RICK MITCHELL is a writer and comedian living in Los Angeles, CA.
In 2002, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Film and Media Studies from UC Davis. At the time, film was not offered as a major, so Rick took it up on himself to create his own. Yeah...he created a major. And he's told it's legit.
While in college, Rick started performing stand-up comedy. Over the years, he's performed at many clubs including The Improv, The San Francisco Punchline and The Ice House. He's worked with many amazing comedians including Sarah Silverman, Robert Schimmel, Maria Bamford and Emo Phillips.
In 2005, Rick graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting. That same year, he was accepted into the prestigious Warner Bros. Comedy Writer's Workshop.
In 2008, Rick joined the show TMZ as a writer/producer. He sometimes gets recognized as the guy in the back who yelled out jokes. It's almost as exciting as creating your own major.
In 2016, Rick was hired as a writer for The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In his six seasons there, he won 5 Daytime Emmys.
